The Great Minnesota Ironman Bicycle Ride

Annual Ride Takes Place On Last Sunday In April In Lakeville, MN

Web site: IronmanBikeRide.org | Ride Date: Sunday April 25th, 2010

2010 marks our 44th year of presenting one of the finest bike rides in the nation. Join in the tradition! Please join us Sunday, April 25th, 2010 for the Midwest’s Season Opener bicycling event – The Minnesota Ironman Bicycle Ride. The MIBR is our largest annual fundraiser. We produce it every year with the help of hundreds of volunteers, a committee of dedicated event specialists, and our community affiliates and sponsors. With their help we produce the best possible organized bike event.

The MIBR was started by a group of enthusiasts who wanted to test their mettle after a long Minnesota Winter. It became a tradition, and a spring rite, to ride 100 miles on the last day in April. We have since added a 30 and 65 mile routes to open this ride to a wider audience. It continues to be one of the most popular rides in the Midwest, and one of the most respected rides in the industry. See photos of recent events at our Flickr site below.

The Tour De Pines Bike Tour

Bike Tour of Itasca State Park, Presented by the HI-Mississippi Headwaters Hostel

web site: TourDePines.org | Ride Date: Saturday, August 21st, 2010

The Tour De Pines was organized to celebrate hostelling in the U.S. We are lucky to have such a fine hostel in such beautiful country such as Itasca. There is no better way to appreciate the quiet beauty of the roads in that part of Minnesota than by bicycle. The tour begins and ends at the HI-Mississippi Headwaters Hostel in the heart of Itasca State Park. The routes follow the Wilderness Road through the park, and then venture out into the local forest and countryside. The roads are quiet, well paved, and wonderfully scenic. The ride ends with a BBQ meal at the hostel. Make a weekend of it and bring the family. This is a wonderful event. See photos of recent events at our Flickr site below.
