Welcome Traveler!
It's finally springtime in Minnesota. With that in mind, we decided to do some cleaning around the HI-MN offices. It started with the decision to produce a digital-only version of The MN Hosteller, our quarterly newsletter. It's cheaper, greener, and more interactive.
We've also developed a couple new sections: Notes From The Road and Local Travelers. Each section will feature local travelers and highlight their recent adventures. See the links at right. Let us know what you think.
After a critical look at our newsletter, we moved on to our web site, himinnesota.org. The idea was to make it easier to navigate, and to give a fuller representation of all our goings-on at HI-Minnesota's Council Headquarters as well as the Mississippi Headwaters Hostel. Again, take a look. We appreciate the feedback.
Next on the cleaning list: The MIssissippi Headwaters Hostel. We need volunteers May 10—11 to help ready the hostel for the upcoming season. It's a fun, free, work-filled weekend at the hostel. Help with chores like switching out the storm windows, deep cleaning the rooms, stacking firewood, raking the yard, etc. It's good, healthy work. And yet, there is plenty of time to play and to explore the trails and shorelines of Itasca State Park as well. And speaking of the hostel, we're proud to introduce our new summer manager, Michelle Vidovic!
Contact the hostel manager at mhhostel@himinnesota.org if you are interested in being part of the spring cleaning crew. Ride shares encouraged!
Meanwhile, enjoy spring. Put some travel plans on the calendar. Stop by and visit us sometime soon as well.
Bon voyage!
